Daniel Donovan,

CEM, CBCP, CDSM

Daniel Donovan is an experienced HVAC and engineering educator with a career rooted in hands-on field experience and senior-level leadership. He began his career as an oiler and progressed through the ranks to stationary engineer, chief engineer, and ultimately Director of Energy Management and Executive Director for DCAS in New York City.

Daniel has served as an adjunct professor for CUNY’s Building Performance Labs and has lectured at numerous energy and engineering forums throughout NYC, including the Javits Center’s Building Performance Week, as well as multiple AEE chapter events. He has been teaching since 2013, beginning with the NYC Stationary Engineers Practical Exam, where his students consistently achieve a pass rate exceeding 90%.


His instructional background includes preparation for the Stationary Engineer, Senior Stationary Engineer, Oiler, High Pressure Plant Tender, School Custodian, and related licensing exams. Daniel is committed to combining real-world experience with practical instruction to help students succeed in the field.

Steve Lewandowski

Steve Lewandowski has served as an instructor for the past eight years, during which time he has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to student learning and professional development. He brings extensive practical experience to the classroom, drawing on his prior work as a School Custodian Engineer and currently working as a Stationary Engineer in New York City.

 

His comprehensive knowledge of boiler and HVAC systems, combined with his ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts, distinguishes him as an exceptional educator. Mr. Lewandowski’s expertise and dedication make him a highly valued and integral member of this academy.
